The Fugitives of Dun Lagr is a Dwarf-centric guild hosted on the Kilrogg Realm of the massively multiplayer online role-playing game World of Warcraft® developed and published by Blizzard Entertainment®. If you are interested in joining, please send an in-game message to one of the following characters: Grogfroth, Flaskhelm, Gewurtz, or Grumbleswill.
And remember... it's pronounced "Lager" as in beer, not "Lagger" as in Ironforge. Cheers.

With their relationship with the Bronzebeard Clan fading after the death of King Khardros, the Wildhammer Clan decided to boost their trade prospects by building an outpost closer to the main road that stretched between Ironforge Mountain and the now Ruins of Lordaeron.

This new extention of Aerie Peak would allow travellers easier access to the goods crafted by the Wildhammer dwarves. It would also commission a volunteer militia unit to act as a lookout and first-line of defense against any possible insurgence from remnants of the Dark Iron Clan or other aggressors. The Wildhammers constructed this brawny trading post across the valley from the human stronghold of Stromgarde Keep, in the summits that scraped the Arathi skye above the Northfold Manor.

Much of the prosperity the Wildhammers found following the the War of the Three Hammers was due in large part to the establishment of this castle-walled bartering town that took the name Dun Lagr.

Trade increased ten-fold for the Wildhammers. Trade goods, reagents, and consumables from the human city of Hillsbrad Fields and the wizard's town of Dalaran were plentiful, Gnomish products from Gnomeragan were numerous, and even boutique Dwaven items from Ironforge were becoming more readily available again too. The business going on within the walls of Dun Lagr was so prevalent, the dwarves back in Aerie Peak were on the verge of not having enough supply for the demand. The town had quickly become a hub of capitalism north of the Thandol Span.

The walls surrounding Dun Lagr were big, thick, and strong. When travellers walked past it's double-solid gate, they felt safe from any threats that may arise. As the prosperity of Dun Lagr grew, the Wildhammers sought to protect their investment by hosting a garrison of Mountaineers there.

On a dark, frosty night deep in the heart of winter, the young, hectic life of Dun Lagr was altered forever. The trusting hearts of the Wildhammer dwarves were betrayed by two greedy, deceitful, drunken little gnomes and their mischievious ways. They went by the monikers of Bottlerocket and Gnash, but it is still unknown whether these were their true names.

As the citizens of Dun Lagr slept in their beds, the two treasonous gnomes bludgeoned the guards and opened the portcullis letting in a flood of Shadowforge dwarves fueled by vengeance for their demonic fate. The Shadowforge spread throughout the town like a plague; burning the markets, emptying the banks, raiding the homes, and slaying the populous.

By sunrise, Dun Lagr was in ruins. The Mountaineers and militia had been caught off-guard and could not recover from the Shadowforge's blitzkrieg. All the non-dwarf races were barbarically ushered out the gates, while any surviving Wildhammers were brutally beaten and locked-up in their own stockade. The conditions in the stockade were beyond miserable and the treatment the inmates received was no better. But the unrelenting spirit of the Wildhammers had experienced this torment before with the haunting of Grim Batol, and it would take a much bigger effort from the Dark Iron Clan to shatter their will.

Using secret codes and hand signals, a plan was quickly put into action. Slowly, but steadily the prisoners began digging into the cellblock wall, eventually creating a hole large enough to squeeze through. Waiting for the blackness of the new moon, the Wildhammer captives made a jailbreak. They were free for the first time in ten long months.

The Wildhammer dwarves that endured the tortures of the Dun Lagr stockade share a special bond with each other that can be recognized by the pain in their eyes, the determination in their hearts, the purity in their souls, and the ambition to remain free and adventurous across the land. Refered to as the Fugitives of Dun Lagr, they stick together for the benefit of all the Wildhammer Clan to make sure an incident like this never happens again.
